Police in Dawson Creek have provided an update on the condition of the person taken to hospital, after being hit by a vehicle.
The incident happened around noon on 102nd Avenue Monday. A pedestrian was hit by a car. Police had initially said they suffered minor injuries.
In an update, police now say the victim was airlifted to hospital in Vancouver Tuesday morning.
Mounties said after the person was taken to hospital, doctors discovered serious injuries including, a fractured skull and spine, a large laceration to one their legs and missing teeth.
The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene. Mounties say there could be charges pending the outcome of the investigation.
