Environment Canada indicates sunshine in the coming days for Fort Nelson and the Northern Rockies...
However - weather patterns in the Northeast are indicating snowfall over the next 16 hours as well.
Snowfall of 15 to 25 cm is expected today and this evening in Stone Mountain Provincial Park, Tetsa River, and near the Rockies in the Fort Nelson area.
A frontal system moving through BC will keep snow falling in these areas, tapering off after midnight as it moves into Alberta.
Travel may be difficult, with roads and walkways hard to navigate due to snow accumulation and reduced visibility at times.
Be prepared for quickly changing and worsening travel conditions.
After this disturbance, the forecast for Fort Nelson and area is mainly sunny skies through the long weekend and into the middle of next week, with daytime highs reaching from 5 to 8 degrees.
Continue monitoring alerts and forecasts from Environment Canada, and report severe weather via email to BCstorm@ec.gc.ca or on social media using #BCStorm.
