Pickup driver injured in Highway 97 crash near Wonowon

Police say officers were called to a two-vehicle collision on Highway 97...

WONOWON, B.C.  A pickup truck driver was injured after a collision with an oil tanker north of Wonowon on Monday afternoon, according to the Fort St. John RCMP.

Police say officers say the accident happened on Highway 97 at approximately 4:15 p.m. on August 24.

Investigators determined that an oil tanker and a pickup truck had collided, causing the pickup to roll over. RCMP said no fatalities or other injuries were reported.

The driver of the pickup sustained injuries in the crash. BC Emergency Health Services and STARS Air Ambulance attended the scene and transported the driver for further medical treatment.

The collision led to a temporary closure of Highway 97, although the roadway was later reopened to traffic.

The cause of the crash has not been released, and the incident remains under investigation by the Fort St. John RCMP.
