On August 14, 2026, Fort St. John RCMP received several reports of gunshots in the 8800 block of 107A Avenue.

The investigation is still in its early stages, and no suspects have been identified yet.

The Serious Crime Unit has taken over the case, identifying multiple scenes and collecting evidence. Police believe the incident was targeted.

This is the third shooting in Fort St. John since July 22, 2026, and the rise in gun violence is a major concern.

Officers from the RCMP Street Enforcement Team and Serious Crime Unit are working together to find those responsible, crack down on crime linked to firearms, and prevent more incidents.

Sgt. Jaime Moffat emphasized that community safety is the top priority and assured that significant resources are being dedicated to solving these cases.

Anyone with information, including surveillance or dashcam footage, is urged to contact the RCMP at 250-787-8100 or, to remain anonymous, call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS.
