The Northern Rockies Regional Airport is hosting a full-scale emergency response exercise on Tuesday, September 22.
The exercise which occurs every four years, will involve airport staff, Fire Rescue, RCMP, BC Ambulance Service, and the Northern Rockies Regional Municipality (NRRM) Emergency Operations Centre. This mandatory Transport Canada training event is conducted to test emergency procedures and local coordination.
Organizers are currently looking for 16 or more volunteers to act in the following simulation roles: Plane crash victims displaying various simulated injury levels, friends and family members acting as "meet and greeters" in the airport terminal building.
