FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. - A semi-truck driver is dead following a rollover crash north of Fort St. John.
According to the Fort St. John RCMP, officers were called to a single-vehicle collision on Montney Road at 246 Road, at 3:46 p.m. on July 27.
Police say a northbound semi-truck and trailer left the roadway, rolled over and came to rest in a ditch. The male driver was located deceased at the scene.
The Fort St. John Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Services unit attended and continues to investigate the cause of the crash. Police say no criminality is suspected at this time.
“Our hearts go out to the family during this tragic loss,” said Constable Chad Neustaeter, media relations officer with the Fort St. Joh RCMP. “At this time there is no criminality being attributed to this file.”
Montney Road remained closed throughout the afternoon and into the evening while investigators and emergency crews worked at the scene. The roadway reopened around midnight.
The investigation remains ongoing.
