Mounties seized over a dozen 3D-printed firearms in various stages of completion during a recent search warrant.
The seizure was tied to a drug trafficking investigation.
The raid took place at a property on 105 Avenue in Fort St. John, where the local RCMP Street Enforcement Team found about 20 guns, either finished or in progress.
Police say they’ve seen a rise in privately manufactured firearms (PMFs) since late 2025, noting these weapons can resemble harmless toys and pose serious risks to community safety.
A 37-year-old man was arrested but later released without charges, with the investigation ongoing and serious charges expected to be recommended.
Sgt. Ian Rissanen of the Plainclothes Unit said the operation effectively dismantled the firearm manufacturing site, crediting vigilant community members for aiding the broader fight against illegal drugs and organized crime.
He added that while the full impact is hard to measure, it will likely be significant for public safety.
