Fort Nelson, B.C., May 4, 2026 – The Spirit of the North Healthcare Foundation, alongside the Fort Nelson Hospital & Healthcare Foundation, is excited to share that Northwestel has generously funded a new vital signs machine for Fort Nelson General Hospital.
This marks the first year of a three-year commitment to improving healthcare access in Fort Nelson and nearby areas.
Vital signs machines are essential tools used daily by healthcare staff to check key health indicators like blood pressure, heart rate, temperature, and oxygen levels, providing quick and accurate information vital for emergency care, inpatient treatment, and ongoing evaluation. The need for this equipment was identified by local frontline medical teams, and Northwestel stepped in right away to make it happen.
