The Northern Rockies community is gearing up for the annual Spring Fling, and it’s not what you might expect!
Every May, with support from the Northern Rockies Municipality, residents join forces for a massive clean-up.
From May 16 to 18, “Kick it to the Curb” invites people to place usable but unwanted items at the curb marked “FREE” for others to take.
May 16 to 24 is Free Landfill Week, allowing residents to dispose of household and green waste at no cost.
Throughout the event, the "Community Clean-up" offers $5 per bag of litter collected, with bags and gloves available from Public Works. From May 19 to 22, curbside pick-up is offered for those unable to haul bulky items to the landfill.
Plus, free vermicompost castings are available—bring green waste to the landfill, then grab a bucket (one per person) at the transfer station.
Don’t forget your shovel and bucket, and enjoy the Spring Fling spirit!
