TOK, ALASKA — Fort Nelson musher Blayne “Bud” Streeper has solidified his status at the pinnacle of dog sledding.

He captured the 2026 Tok Race of Champions this past weekend. The victory marks a historic milestone, as Streeper has now secured the prestigious Alaskan ‘Triple Crown’ for the third time in his career.

Representing Streeper Kennels Racing Dogs, Streeper and his team, the “Canadian Express,” dominated the Open Division. The team completed the two-day event with a combined time of 127:42.31, finishing more than six minutes ahead of runner-up Sherry Johnson of Fergus Falls, Minnesota.

The win in Tok follows Streeper’s back-to-back victories earlier this season at the Anchorage Fur Rendezvous in February and the Lotto Alaska Open North American Championship in March. Sweeping all three major events in a single season is a rare feat that cements Streeper’s legacy in the sport.

“I feel fortunate and blessed to participate in this sport,” said the 44-year-old Streeper, reflecting on a season that tested the endurance of both animal and master in the frigid northern winter.

The 2026 Tok Race of Champions, held March 28–29, was sanctioned by the Tok Dog Mushers’ Association. This latest win continues a dominant run for the Fort Nelson-based racing kennel on the international stage.
