"We are investing in community organizations that make a real difference in people's lives," said Anne Kang, Minister of Tourism, Arts, Culture and Sport. "These grants help non-profits manage capital costs, such as upgrading infrastructure, which in turn promotes strong, vibrant communities right across B.C.".

The Child Development Centre Society of Fort St. John and District has been awarded $194,500. This grant is earmarked for a major facility renovation to house a dedicated respite and skills program for youth with significant support needs. Key features of the project include:Energeticcity +1

  • Activity Hub & Sensory Room: The creation of a flexible, open-concept hub and a specialized sensory environment.
  • Infrastructure Upgrades: Installation of new soundproofed offices and enhancements to the outdoor spaces.

The South Peace Child Development Society in Dawson Creek received nearly $45,000 ($44,634) to address urgent maintenance. The funding will be used to repair three major sections of the building’s roof, a critical step to prevent leaks and eliminate program interruptions caused by water damage.

The Community Gaming Grants program provides approximately $139 million annually to support non-profits that deliver essential community programs. This year, the ministry has granted more than $5.1 million specifically for capital projects across British Columbia, enabling organizations to invest in technology, transportation, and infrastructure.
