From Mud bogging to custom apparel and promo products, Half Cut Garage has a story...

The grand opening event today (15 March 2026) marks a new beginning for a business that started with a mud-bogger.

Owners Ian and Melissa Langstaff reflected on how this all started over 20 years ago. "To tell you the truth, it started with half a mud bogger truck back in 2004. I decided I wanted to give mud slinging a shot and so, I built a bogger. One thing sort of led to another and the next thing you know, I was welding and fabricating in my shop," said Ian.

Many are familiar with Ian's Skid Steer and his snow clearing expertise - especially this winter.

Ian & Melissa also have a love of boats and began building them in his shop as well. That section of the Langstaff business became known as Half-Cut Garage -Welding, Fabricating & Machining..

Through the years, Ian and partner Melissa took to the great outdoors for great adventures and scenery in Northern B.C. and all the while video recording their exploits on Youtube where they have compiled over 53,000 followers.

Melissa Langstaff ordered some apparel to match up with their adventures and that's when the next phase of the Half-Cut story began!.

Melissa and Ian decided they should be making their own "stuff" given the demand was growing for apparel matching the Half-Cut brand. So in 2023, they began producing their own swag right at home.

Today, Half Cut Garage Ltd. Custom Apparel & Promo Products opened their store front in the Landmark Plaza Fort Nelson B.C. where they make everything on-site.

In an economic environment that has not been friendly for local business (we have lost a few), it's great to see the opening of this store.
