5 to 10 cm accumulation is anticipated today in the Northern Rockies and more on the way.
It's true that the month of March is just around the corner and with that warmer spring weather is always anticipated however, winter conditions will prevail for a while longer according to environment Canada.
Snowfall amounts of between 10 and 20cm is possible this evening and overnight along the Alaska Highway and in the Northern Rockies.
Forecasters say brief, intense snowfall is expected in the Fort St. John region encompassing the BC North Peace River region with snow squalls causing visibility to be significantly reduced due to blowing snow and white out conditions early Thursday morning.
Temperatures in the Northern Rockies are expected to become cooler as the day progresses with the temperature expected to hover around -25 on Thursday.
