Mile Zero is gearing up and putting on the foil for the 2026 Coy Cup.

Jeff Taylor, General Manager and Dan Przybylski, Secretary Treasurer spoke with Dawson Creek city council last week talking the Coy Cup tourney, facing off March 29-April 4 in Dawson Creek, British Columbia.

“This is our first kick at hosting,” says General Manager Jeff Taylor. The squad knows a thing or two about the Cup; the Canucks are three-time Coy Cup champions, winning it in 2018, 2019 and 2022.

Dan Przybylski, Secretary Treasurer says the history of the championship and trophy goes back more than a century.

“The Coy has been going since 1922 – it’s a fairly big deal and it’s our turn.”

Przybylski says hosting is also a chance for the Peace Region to see championship level provincial hockey, and to showcase the city and area to visitors.

The Terrace River Kings, reigning Coy Cup champions, earned the 2025 title after a 5-4 victory against the Rossland Warriors in the championship final in Prince Rupert.

The Coy Cup was donated to British Columbia Hockey by Colonel Coy of the 50th “Gordon Highlanders” Regiment of Victoria, B. C. and was first awarded in the 1922–23 season.

Senior Male AA teams from across British Columbia will assemble with the puck dropping Mar. 31 to Apr. 4 2026 at the Dawson Creek Memorial Arena.
