It happened Tuesday evening between Northern Lights Drive and 259 Road just before 5:30pm near Fort St. John.
Fort St. John RCMP said a GMC pickup was travelling south on the Alaska Highway and was turning left into a driveway. Police say as the pickup was waiting to turn, it was rear ended by a Ford Escape.
The driver of the pickup was taken to hospital with minor injuries. A passenger in the Ford escape also suffered minor injuries and was taken to hospital.
Investigators say it is too early to determine if road conditions were a factor in the collision. The highway was closed in both directions for nearly 8 hours before being re-opened.
The 5 occupants in a 2 vehicle collision escaped serious injury.
