Police in Fort Providence have laid charges following an investigation that began in October.
On October 8, 2025, while delivering court documents to a home in the community, officers were told by the homeowner about suspected crack cocaine found in a bedroom.
The residence was secured, and a search warrant was obtained.
During the search, police discovered several long guns, including a sawed-off rifle, a ballistic vest, about 56 grams of crack cocaine, over 130 codeine tablets, and other drug trafficking items.
As a result, 32-year-old Westlin Sabourin of Fort Providence was arrested on December 15 and charged with multiple drug trafficking and firearm offenses.
He was held for a bail hearing, remanded into custody, and is set to appear in court on January 13, 2026.
