The BC Centre for Disease Control has reported four new cases of measles in the province, all of which are from Northeast BC.
Health officials said the Northeast has reached 292 measles cases this year, adding there is currently one active case in the region.
The BC CDC said Northeast BC is responsible for about 76 per cent of all cases in the province.
The update follows a measles exposure reported on December 8 at the North Peace Cultural Center in Fort St. John.
Health officials say vaccination is the most effective way to protect against measles.
