The BC Prosecution Service says it won’t appeal the court’s decision after a Peace Region man pled guilty to sexual interference with a person under 16.

In October, Judge Oliver Fleck sentenced Timothy Schlosser to 18 months of house arrest, 36 months probation, and ordered him to register as a sex offender for 20 years. The victim’s mother told CJDC TV News her daughter was four at the time.

Judge Fleck also allowed Schlosser to keep working during his sentence, which many online criticized as too lenient.

Following the October 3, 2025 ruling, the Prosecution Service said they were reviewing the decision, but confirmed Friday they did not appeal the Charter ruling or sentencing.

Schlosser was arrested in Fort St. John in January 2022 and initially faced charges of sexual interference and invitation to sexual touching involving a person under 16. Victims of sex crimes can contact Victim Link BC at 1-800-563-0808 for support and referrals.
