A man reported missing by the Fort St. John RCMP has been identified after a body was discovered in a burnt-out vehicle near Farmington.
On October 13th, police found Jesse Twain's remains in a silver 2005 Mazda 6 on 251 Road, near the Kiskatinaw River.
Three days later, police stated it was unclear who was inside the vehicle or how they died.
“All indications suggest that this is a homicide, and police look to the public to help further the investigation,” said Supt. Sanjaya Wijayakoon of the BC-RCMP after the discovery.
Sources close to the investigation told CJDC TV News that Twain’s DNA had to be matched with a family member to confirm his identity.
Less than a week after his remains were found, the Fort St. John RCMP sought public assistance to locate Twain.
The 29-year-old Edmonton man was last seen around October 10, 2025, in the Fort St. John, BC area.
A press release stated that his family and the RCMP were concerned for his wellbeing.
It remains unclear why Twain was in the Fort St. John area, why he was murdered, or if police have identified any suspects in the case.
The investigation continues, and police are urging the public for help. If you have information about Jesse Twain or the events surrounding his death, call the dedicated line at 1-877-987-8477.
