A grizzly bear attack in the McGregor Range area near Prince George, B.C., has led to trail closures and a public warning. The B.C.

Conservation Officer Service reported that two hikers were attacked on  Oct 14, prompting specialists to investigate. An air ambulance arrived around 3 p.m., and paramedics provided emergency treatment before transporting the hikers to the Prince George Airport. From there, they were taken to further care, with one hiker in critical condition and the other in stable condition, according to BCEHS spokesperson Brian Twaites.

Conservation officers advised the public to avoid the Pass Lake area and have closed trails until investigations are complete. In August, conservation officers received 63 reports of grizzly bear conflicts, with 13 requiring attendance and one bear being euthanized.
