Grande Prairie cowboy wins title at CFR

The Canadian Finals Rodeo wrapped up with two go-rounds Saturday in Edmonton.

Grande Prairie’s Ryder Topolinski has won the Canadian steer riding championship.

Topolinski completed all of his rides, including a score of 77.25, in the second go-round Friday night.

Dayton Cronkhite of Maple Creek, Saskatchewan won the CFR aggregate in steer riding.

Grande Prairie’s Jennifer Neudorf wound up second in the CFR aggregate and third in the season standings in barrel racing. Neudorf finished a little over-three-tenths of a second behind Gleichen’s Jayden Wilson in the aggregate. Wilson also won the Canadian championship.

Jacob Gardner of Fort St. John finished second in the aggregate and in the season bull riding standings behind Maple Creek, Saskatchewan’s Jared Parsonage.

Fort St. John’s Stephen Culling finished fifth in the aggregate and seventh in the season standings in steer wrestling. Scott Guenthner of Provost captured the Canadian championship.

Charlie Lake’s Tyrel Roberts ended up sixth in the aggregate and 12th on the season in saddle broncs. Roberts moved up two spots in the season standings at CFR. Big Valley’s Zeke Thurston won the Canadian title

Other Canadian champions include Clint Laye of Cadogan in bareback riding; Bradi Whiteside of Longview in breakaway roping; Kyle Lucas of Carstairs in tie-down roping; Kash Bonnett and Logan Cullen, both of Ponoka, in team roping; Quaide Skjonsberg from Bluffton in novice bareback; and Clay Greenslade of Strathmore in novice saddle bronc riding.

Logan Spady of Alliance, Alberta is the all-around cowboy winner. Whiteside won the women’s all-around title.
