The mother of the girl involved told CJDC TV News, that her daughter was four years old at the time.
Timothy Schlosser was arrested in Fort St. John in January 2022. He was originally charged with sexual interference of a person under 16 and invitation to sexual touching involving a person under 16.
Judge Oliver Fleck handed Schlosser a conditional sentence of house arrest for 18 months. Schlosser also received 36 months probation and has to register as a sex offender for the next 20 years.
Judge Fleck has also allowed Schlosser to continue working during his house arrest sentence.
The girl’s mom said, “I know that judges don’t have full control over their sentencing. However, after what happened to my daughter, no sentence could ever be long enough.”
She is encouraging other parents to have meaningful conversations with their kids. She said, “If something does happen, your kids should be comfortable coming to you for help.”
