The emergency department at Fort Nelson Hospital was forced to close due to “unexpected staffing challenges.”
Northern Health said services at the emergency room were interrupted at 7 am Wednesday (Sept 17,2025) and will resume at 3 o’clock in the afternoon.
It marks the fourth diversion of the year at the Fort Nelson Hospital.
Health officials said residents of the Fort Nelson area needing life-threatening emergency care should call 911 and will be transported to the nearest available facility.
