A Northern Rockies RCMP officer faces a charge following an incident in Fort Nelson last year.

On Thursday, October 15, 2026, the BC Prosecution Service announced that Constable Maxim Pinke has been charged with one count of assault with a weapon under Section 267(a) of the Criminal Code.

The charge stems from an alleged incident that took place on November 6, 2025, in Fort Nelson. The charge was approved by an experienced Crown Counsel with no connection to the accused officer.

Pinke is scheduled to make his first appearance in Fort Nelson Provincial Court on October 29, 2026.

Because the matter is currently before the courts, the BC Prosecution Service will not comment further at this time.
