Fort Nelson man sentenced in relation to stabbing

A Fort Nelson man has been sentenced for a stabbing that took place last month.

In the early hours of August 22, 2026, around 2:09 a.m., Northern Rockies RCMP responded to a call about a stabbing at a home on Dene Etene Road.

During the investigation, Ross Capot-Blanc was charged with assault with a weapon and turned himself in a few days later.

He pled guilty in court and received a 345-day jail sentence, with credit given for time already served.

Sergeant Christian Drabosenig thanked the public and community partners for their help and emphasized the importance of keeping the community informed about significant court outcomes.
