Wildfire discovered near Fort Nelson First Nation territory

The BC Wildfire Service (nrs.gov.bc.ca) is monitoring the situation.

A new wildfire was reported bordering the territory of the Fort Nelson First Nation recently.

  • Location: Seven kilometres east of the confluence of the Fort Nelson and Muskwa rivers.
  • Estimated Size: 0.015 hectares.
  • Suspected Cause: Lightning strike. [1, 2]
