BC Wildfire Service says suppression efforts are underway...
A wildfire burning southwest of Fort Nelson has grown to 50 hectares and is classified as out of control, according to the BC Wildfire Service.
The fire was discovered on Tuesday and is burning near the Muskwa River, approximately 48 kilometres southwest of Fort Nelson. BC Wildfire Service says suppression efforts are underway in an attempt to limit the spread of the blaze.
The wildfire is currently listed as “out of control,” meaning it is spreading, or is expected to spread, beyond its existing perimeter or control lines.

Residents are encouraged to monitor the BC Wildfire Service for updates as firefighters continue suppression efforts on the incident.
The fire is one of six wildfires burning across Northeast BC. The other five fires are all either being held or are under control.
