Two people were arrested after reports of shots fired in Dawson Creek, according to RCMP.

Police responded a residence on 99th Avenue in the early morning hours of Saturday. When Mounties arrived at the scene, they determined that no one was inside the home.

After a brief investigation, officers determined there was no evidence to support shots being fired. They did not locate any casings or find any bullet holes.

After leaving the scene, members were conducting patrols of the area. They spotted two residents of the home in question, leaving in a truck.

Officers stopped the truck and found a backpack in the vehicle. According to police, a search turned up a suspected weapon.

Police say they also found a jar of white powder. Officers seized 6 grams of suspected fentanyl, nine grams of suspected methamphetamine and 27 grams of suspect crystal meth.

The names of the suspects have not been released as charges have yet to be laid. Police say the matter remains under investigation.
