Canada had it's sights set on the gold medal in the finals but it was not to be.

Canada fell 2-0 to the United States in the Para Hockey Cup final Saturday.

Brett Bolton scored in the first period and Brody Roybal added an empty-net goal for the U.S., which is the reigning world and Paralympic champion.

Jen Lee posted a 10-save shutout for the Americans at the Ovintiv Events Centre in Dawson Creek, B.C.

Canada's Corbin Watson made 16 saves in the loss. Canada didn't score on three power-play chances and the U.S. went 0-for-2 with a man advantage.

The U.S. went undefeated in five games in the four-country tournament that also included Czechia and China.
