Update @07:30 Oct 3/25: Fire is now listed as "under control"
The BC Wildfire Service said a half-hectare wildfire was discovered northwest of Fort St. John.
The service said the fire was discovered Thursday, approximately five kilometres west of Highway 97 in the Charlie Lake area.
The wildfire service noted that the wildfire is listed as out of control and may grow outside its current perimeter. It believes the fire was human caused.
As of October 2, the province said there are 102 active wildfires in BC, with only three listed as out of control, including this one.
